Hi, I’m Petra.
Welcome to Bungalow Abode.
I’ve always believed that home isn’t about having the biggest space or following the latest trends. It’s about creating a place that feels calm, welcoming, and deeply personal, a space that tells your story the moment you walk through the door.
I’ve always felt most at home in places that are a little smaller, a little cozier (I currently live in 700 sq. ft house!) Spaces that feel fresh, warm, and truly lived in. That love eventually became the heart of Bungalow Abode: embracing an eclectic minimalist approach to creating homes that are calm, collected, and full of character.
My love for interiors has been shaped by travel. I’ve been fortunate to visit more than 15 countries and have called Australia, Bali, and now a small beach town in the US home. Every place has taught me something different about design, how natural light changes throughout the day, how climate influences materials, how texture creates warmth, and how each culture brings its own unique perspective to living beautifully.
I’m completely self-taught and constantly learning. I find endless inspiration in the way environments, textures, architecture, and nature work together to bring a room to life. My favorite spaces aren’t perfect, they feel layered, effortless, and collected over time. They invite you to slow down, breathe deeply, and simply be.
Designing spaces has always been something I naturally gravitated toward. What started as helping friends and family decorate their homes slowly turned into something more. Again and again, they’d ask for help pulling a room together or creating a home that felt more like them. That’s when I realized this wasn’t just a hobby, it was something I genuinely loved and had a gift for.
